Who we are

TrueCost Crypto ("we") runs this website. Contact details will be published here before launch.

What we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address or financial details.

The amounts, countries and coins you enter in the calculator are processed in your browser and are not sent to us.

Technical data

Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. This data is kept in short-lived server logs.

Live market data

To show live prices and spreads, your browser requests public order books directly from the exchanges we compare and exchange rates from open.er-api.com. These services receive your IP address and browser type like any website you visit, but no amounts, coins or other inputs you type. Their own privacy policies apply.

Cookies and local storage

We do not set cookies. We store two preferences in your browser's local storage: your colour theme and your language. They never leave your device, and you can clear them in your browser settings.

Because we only store what is needed for features you choose, no consent banner is required. If we add analytics, we will use a cookieless service and update this page first.

Affiliate links

Some links to exchanges are affiliate links. When you click one, the exchange may set its own cookies to record that you came from us. That processing is governed by the exchange's privacy policy. The referral reports we receive do not identify you by name.

Legal basis and transfers

Where data protection laws such as the EU and UK GDPR apply, we process technical data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Cloudflare operates a global network, so technical data may be processed outside your country, under safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Brazil's LGPD, Turkey's KVKK or Israel's Privacy Protection Law), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to processing, and to complain to your data protection authority.

Because we hold almost no personal data, most requests can be answered quickly. Contact details will be published here before launch.
